Sotirios Versis
Sotirios Versis ( Greek Σωτήριος Βερσής , * 1876 ; † 1919 ) was a Greek weightlifter and athlete .
In the discus throw at the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 , he was third behind the American Robert Garrett and his compatriot Panagiotis Paraskevopoulos . His best throw was 27.78 meters.
In the Olympic weightlifting competitions, Versis reached third place in the two-armed competition behind the Dane Viggo Jensen and the British Launceston Elliot with a lifted weight of 90 kg.
