The South Crillon Glacier is a 14 km long glacier in Glacier Bay National Park in the Panhandle of Alaska (USA).
geography
The glacier's nutrient area is located at an altitude of about 1,600 m on the western flank of Mount Crillon in the Fairweather Range . From there, the glacier flows out of the mountains in a predominantly west-southwest direction. Further north, the North Crillon Glacier runs parallel to the South Crillon Glacier. Both glaciers reach the Fairweather Fault . As the North Crillon Glacier turns north, the South Crillon Glacier turns south-southeast. Shortly afterwards it ends at a height of 90 m on the north shore of the 7 km long Crillon Lake , a lake at the edge of the glacier . This is drained to the Pacific via the 2 km long Crillon River . The mean glacier width of the South Crillon Glacier is 900 m.
