South of England Championships
The South of England Championships were open international badminton championships in England . They were one of the most important international badminton tournaments in the early days of the sport since the first decade of the 20th century. They were first played in 1906 at the Crystal Palace Badminton Club . The Crystal Palace club hosted their first open tournament four years earlier, but this was not yet titled the South of England Championships. With the spread of sport across all continents, the title fights lost their international importance in the 1960s.
