The Southeast Missouri State University is a state university in Cape Girardeau in the US state of Missouri . It was founded in 1873 . There are currently around 10,300 students enrolled here.

In addition to the main campus in Cape Girardeau, there are regional locations in Kennett, Malden and Sikeston as well as the Perryville Higher Education Center. There are also the following branches: Harris-Stowe State College in St. Louis, Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Southeast in Poplar Bluff and the St. Louis Community College Florissant Valley in St. Louis
