University of Central Missouri
The University of Central Missouri is a state university in Warrensburg in the US state of Missouri . It has over 12,000 students. In addition to the main campus in Warrensburg, there is a location in Lee's Summit .
history
The university was founded in 1871 as State Normal School, District # 2 and was known as Warrensburg Teachers College . From 1971 it was called Central Missouri State University (CMSU) . In 2006 it was renamed the University of Central Missouri .

Sports
The college's sports teams are known as the Central Missouri Mules and Jennies and participate in the MIAA .
GIMPS
As part of the GIMPS project , four Mersenne prime numbers were discovered at UCM in 2005, 2006, 2013 and 2016 . The number discovered in 2016 has over 22 million digits and is currently the largest known prime .
