Sanijay Watts (born November 23, 1987 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American professional basketball player .

Career

After graduating from high school , Watts first went to the State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri , where he played for two years for the roadrunners college team in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) from 2006 . Then Watts continued his studies at the University of Central Missouri, where played for the college team Mules in Division II of the NCAA . At the time of his graduation in 2010, he was the only player in school history who managed to score more than 1000 points in two seasons. In 2010, in recognition of his achievements, he was elected to the “ All-American First Team” of the second division of the NCAA. Previously, he had scored an average of 21.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game during the season.

For the 2010/2011 season, Sanijay Watts moved to his first professional position in Europe and signed a contract with the Dragons Rhöndorf in the ProA . There he should help to keep the club going. In his first game he immediately put on a so-called double-double by booking 21 points and 16 rebounds. With an average of 17.7 points and 8.7 rebounds, Watts played a strong first season in Europe, but could not prevent the Dragons' sporting descent. June 2011 Watts announced that he would not return to Rhöndorf because he did not want to play in the third class ProB . Watts then moved within the ProA and played the 2011/2012 season for USC Heidelberg . There, his contract was not extended in 2012 and Watts changed again within the ProA and signed a contract with Science City Jena . After a coach change in Jena for the 2013/2014 season, Watts did not receive a new contract with Science City Jena. On September 2, 2013, the BG Dorsten announced the commitment of Watts.

After a year Watts left the BG Dorsten again.
