The 1974/75 season was the Southern Hockey League's second regular season . During the regular season, the five teams played 72 games each. The Charlotte Checkers prevailed in the play-offs and won the first SHL championship title in their club's history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Macon Whoopees stopped playing.
- The Hampton Gulls were added to the league as an expansion team.
