The Social-National Assembly ( Ukrainian Соціал-Національна Асамблея , SNA) is an amalgamation of several Ukrainian nationalist and neo-Nazi organizations, its paramilitary part is the Patriot of Ukraine group . The chairman of the National Socialist Assembly is Andrij Bilezkyj , who is also the commander of the right-wing extremist paramilitary organization “ Regiment Azov ”.

history

The SNA was founded in 2008. The group led u. a. carried out a violent action in Wassylkiv in 2010 , which was targeted against foreign traders. In 2011 three of its members, including Volodymyr Schpara and Ihor Mossijchuk, tried to blow up a Lenin monument at Kiev airport. In January 2014, they were each sentenced to six years in prison. The verdict led to protests and violent clashes, in which 11 people were injured. On February 24, 2014, the convicts were under one of the Verkhovna Rada adopted amnesty to political prisoners declared and released.

As part of the radicalization of Euromaidan , the organization was a co-founder of the paramilitary rallying movement Prawyj Sector in November 2013 . Shpara and Mosijchuk belong to the management level of the Azov regiment.

The Social-National Assembly is a neo-Nazi movement with a totalitarian ideology that advocates a “racially pure Ukraine”. The ideology of the organization is rated as openly neo-Nazi by the Ukrainian political scientist Anton Schechowzow and Andreas Umland .
