Spanish garden is a garden design style that incorporates elements of the Persian and Moorish gardens of the Al-Andalus period on the Iberian Peninsula . It is symmetrical with a long water channel and a central basin as a central axis and is mostly flanked by fruit trees and fragrant shrubs.

Its coolness and humidity and the scent of its flowers, bushes and trees are characteristic. The garden type is adapted to a hot climate, the water is its primary element. Structural features include shady arcades and the systematic use of ceramics as a decorative element (see Islamic ceramics ).

Typical examples of Spanish garden art are the gardens of the Royal Alcázar , the Maria Luisa Park in Seville and the gardens of the Alhambra in Granada (see main article Generalife ).

The composer Manuel de Falla dedicated a composition to the Spanish gardens (see Noches en los jardines de España ).
