The Sparkasse Bonndorf-Stühlingen is the second oldest savings bank in Germany. It was founded on October 24, 1765 (date of the founding deed) by Prince Abbot Martin Gerbert of the Sankt Blasien monastery as the orphanage fund Bonndorf . It was renamed Sparkasse Bonndorf in 1842. In 1972 it merged with Sparkasse Stühlingen.
