Sparkasse Hochfranken was 12 August 2009 by merging the county and Stadtsparkasse Hof with Sparkasse Fichtelgebirge pursuant to Art. 16 and 18, para. 3 Law on public financial institutions . The Sparkasse Fichtelgebirge renamed itself to its previous name Sparkasse Hochfranken on August 1, 2009.
