history

In 1822, on the initiative of Mayor Wilhelm Joseph Behr , the Würzburger Sparkasse was founded, one of the first municipal savings banks in Bavaria. In 1929 she found her domicile in a new building at the Kürschnerhof, on the site of the district court building that was demolished in 1894. The Städtische Sparkasse had a new building built on the Domhof in 1951 (as part of the rebuilding of the city of Würzburg after the Second World War ).
