history
The history of Sparkasse Schaumburg goes back to the establishment of the Eilser Sparlade in today's Bad Eilsen on January 1st, 1817 by Friedrich Witte from Eilsen. Thus the Sparkasse Schaumburg is one of the oldest savings banks in Germany. In the immediate past, Sparkasse Schaumburg emerged from a merger of Sparkassen Schaumburg-Lippe and Grafschaft Schaumburg, the latter in turn also including some branches of the former Kreissparkasse Springe. It has existed in its current form since 1999.
