Emergence

Cosgrove began working on her own album in 2008 after she enjoyed recording some of the songs for the soundtrack of her Nickelodeon series iCarly . It took two years to finish the album, which, according to Cosgrove's manager Chris Poppe, could also be heard, as Cosgrove was 14 years old when they started recording and 16 when the album was finished.

In February 2010, Cosgrove announced the album's first single, Kissin U , which premiered on March 12, 2010 on Ryan Seacrest's radio show . Cosgrove introduced the album in 2011 on their Dancing Crazy Tour, which took them through North America.
