Rafter bracket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Sparrenhalter , Dachsparrenhalter or rafter mast holder is used to secure and stable installation of a satellite dish on the roof of a house.

Material and structure

The rafter bracket is usually made of hot-dip galvanized and stainless steel . The horizontally running metal rail is variably adjustable in width. Depending on the type, widths from 40 cm to 90 cm or 90 cm to 120 cm can be set. The vertically running mast is firmly connected to the rail, but the angle of inclination can be adjusted continuously and thereby compensate for any roof inclination. The mast usually has a diameter of 40 to 60 mm and a height of 90 to 130 cm. Brand manufacturers guarantee a wind load of the rafter bracket of up to 1000 Nm / m².

Assembly

Namely, this is screwed between two rafters of the roof truss running from the eaves to the ridge . The rafter bracket is often installed when building a new family home. DIN 931 hexagon bolts are used for screwing (M8 or M10 with a length of 100 mm or 120 mm). Special roof tiles are used to cover the rafter bracket. They either consist of aluminum, lead or there are special plastic tiles from the respective roof tile manufacturer. Mast caps on the mast and sealing grommets on the shaft of the mast are used to seal and prevent moisture and rainwater from penetrating through the roof tile . The coaxial cables , which are connected to the LNB of the parabolic antenna, can be fed through the hollow mast and the mast cap.
