Spasticity Children

Spastik Children was an American heavy metal band that existed between 1985 and 1990 , a kind of supergroup . The founding members were Fred Cotton, James McDaniel and Rich "Jumbo" Sielert. Drummer Sielert was later replaced on this instrument by James Hetfield , the front man of the band Metallica . Other members of the band were Cliff Burton , Kirk Hammett , and later Jason Newsted , all (former) members of Metallica . Jim Martin , former guitarist of Faith No More , a friend of Hetfield and Burton, also performed with the band a few times .

As a hobby band, Spastik Children primarily offered the members of Metallica the opportunity to play with other musicians and to devote themselves to less serious texts and pieces. The band, which rarely or never rehearsed before their performances, did not release an album during its existence, only recorded a demo in 1986. It was all a live band that performed in small clubs and bars in Northern California .
