Spathiphyllum wendlandii is a species of plant fromthe Arum family (Araceae). It is native to Costa Rica and Panama .

description

The leaves of the species are obsolete or lanceolate, oblong-round to broad or narrow-elliptical. At the base they are usually pointed in a wedge shape. The leaves are 38 to 74 inches long and 11 to 28 inches wide.

The spathe is narrow to broadly elliptical, reaches a length of 16 to 29 centimeters and 5.5 to 9.8 centimeters. It is white, as is the piston .

Distribution and botanical history

Spathiphyllum wendlandii is only native to Honduras , Costa Rica and Panama , where it grows in wet forests . The species was first described by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott in 1858 .
