Lace quadrille

The lace quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 392). It was performed for the first time on January 23, 1881 in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein under the direction of Eduard Strauss .

Remarks

The work was compiled based on motifs from the operetta The Queen's Lace Cloth, which premiered in 1880 . It joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 391 , 393 , 394 , and 406 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. This series also includes the waltz Roses from the South (op. 388).

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 5 minutes and 52 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
