Sport TV is a Portuguese cable channel , the first so-called conditional access channel in Portugal, whose program focuses on national and international sport. It was founded on September 16, 1998 and is part of the NOS and Global Media Group .

Due to the great success of the cable channel, Sport TV 2 HD (June 8, 2006), Sport TV 3 HD (June 1, 2008), Sport 4 HD , Sport TV 5 HD and Sport TV + HD (sporty news channel) have now been launched.

Sport TV also owns the broadcasting rights to all games on a European level - the Champions League , Europa League , Copa Libertadores , Copa America , European Championship , World Cup and FIFA Club World Cup .

In relation to the other sports, Sport TV broadcasts the most important national and international competitions.

In May 2018, the company NOS (owner of the Sport.TV channels) lost the transmission rights to the Champions League, the Spanish LaLiga league and the French Ligue 1 league. Its competitor Eleven Sports Portugal received the exclusive rights and will be in the Cable TV provider Nowo can be received.
