The Sporting Club Steinfort is a Luxembourg football club from Steinfort . The club colors are green and white and, like the club logo, refer to the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon .
history
SC Steinfort was created in 2007 as a merger of the two clubs FC Sporting (founded in 1923) and Sporting Club Lisbon Luxembourg . In the first year after the merger, the SCS took third place in the final table of the honorary doctorate (second highest division) and achieved promotion to the highest Luxembourg division for the first time with a 2-0 win against third-bottom of the national division , FC Wiltz 71 . In the following season 2008/09, however, SC Steinfort rose directly from second last.
After relegation to third division, Steinfort, second in the 1st division, 2nd district, missed promotion to the honorary doctorate in the barrage game against Young Boys Diekirch in 2012 with a 4-6 defeat on penalties (2-2 afterwards, 4th : 6 i.E.).
