Language salt
Sprachsalz is an international literature festival in Hall in Tirol in Austria.
Literature festival
The literature festival was launched in 2003 and takes place every September. During one weekend, readings by around 20 authors are held almost around the clock with free admission.
The architecturally interesting Park Hotel and Kurhaus, which is located in one of the best preserved medieval cities in Austria, provides the framework for the event. The history of the town of Hall in Tirol as an important supplier of salt also inspired the name of the festival.
Ōe Kenzaburō , Wilhelm Genazino , Michel Butor , Colum McCann , Leslie Kaplan , Alan Kaufman , Georg Kreisler , Georg Klein , Herta Müller , Peter kurzck , Ruth Weiss , Safiye Can , Yōko Tawada , José FA Oliver , have already read at Sprachsalz , Josef Winkler , Ed Sanders and many more.
The declared aim of the organizers of the festival (most of whom are authors themselves, such as the Austrians Heinz D. Heisl and Elias Schneitter ) is to awaken the desire to read and listen, and to awaken the desire for good literature. The selection of authors and writers and their presentation is kept personal and concise and deliberately without claim to be exhaustive.

media
"The literary days 'Sprachsalz' have developed in their third year into a serious and well-endowed festival."
“The German writer Georg Klein , otherwise not a man of big words and exaggeration, stands on the terrace of the Parkhotel and says: 'This is the best literary festival I've ever been invited to.' Klein, who was awarded the Leipzig Book Fair Prize last year for his novel Our Childhood, should know that he gets around a lot. "
