The Spruners Ragwurz ( Ophrys spruneri ) is a plant style of the genus of Ragwurzen ( Ophrys ) from the family of orchid (Orchidaceae). It blooms from March to May.
description
This perennial herbaceous plant has two spherical to egg-shaped tubers as persistence organs and reaches heights of growth between 15 and 40, rarely even 50 centimeters. There are one or two scale leaves at the base of the stem . Three to six leaves are grouped together in a base rosette and one or two more leaves can be found higher up on the stem.
The loose inflorescence consists of two to eight flowers . The egg-shaped sepals have a whitish-green basic color. The lateral sepals are in the lower half, rarely evenly, overrun with red. The bald to short-haired and often wavy petals appear greenish-pink. The deep to weakly three-lobed lip is colored black-violet. The mark appears H-shaped and the surrounding basal field is colored purple-blue with a light border. The basal calluses appear blackish.
Location and distribution
This orchid can be found on grasslands , garigues , in light deciduous and coniferous forests with soils rich in bases up to a height of 900 meters above sea level. You can find this plant species on the southern Balkan Peninsula and Aegean Sea . On the Greek mainland, the distribution area extends to southern Macedonia .
