Stéphane Hillel (born April 11, 1955 in Neuilly-sur-Seine , France ) is a French actor , director and theater director.

Live and act

Hillel, who was born in a suburb of Paris, was discovered for the film at the age of 20 and in 1975 took on one of the two leading roles, the eternal wannabe Casanova and daredevil Jean-Pierre, in Michel Lang's nostalgic coming-of-age comedy Bring on the little ones English women . The film was a huge success and brought Hillel - also from Germany - various follow-up roles in love comedies tailored to a young audience, which, however, initially restricted him to similar types of rioters such as Jean-Pierre.

Hillel quickly began to turn to the theater, which held more substantial tasks in store for him. While he initially toured through France on touring stages in the late 1970s, Hillel has appeared on a number of Parisian stages since the early 1980s and has also staged an abundance of stage plays since 1990, including Coiffure pour dames, Bobosse, Toâ, Gagneurs, La Mamma, Les Œufs de l'autruche, Les Portes du ciel, Les Dernières Lunes, Mourir en Messidor, Le Meilleur Professeur, Amadeus, Sunderland, Maris et femmes and Moi, moi et François B. based on authors such as Sacha Guitry , Peter Shaffer and Woody Allen . For his performance in the production of Un petit jeu sans conséquence (2002), he was awarded the Molière Theater Prize the following year .

While the cinema film only played a very subordinate role in Hillel's life since his excursions to the West German Klamottenkino (1977 to 1980), the artist has also been seen in a considerable number of television productions since 1977. At the beginning of 2002, Stéphane Hillel was appointed director of the Théâtre de Paris , a position that he still holds today (as of July 2017).
