The stick pond is a small pond of about 75 × 60 m in size in the city forest of Wolfhagen in the northern Hessian district of Kassel and in the Habichtswald nature park .
It is located about 4 km southwest of the core city of Wolfhagen and 2.5 km northwest of the Wolfhagen district of Leckringhausen in the idyllic valley of the Siegenbach , which is dammed here at the so-called Breitzmanns-Eck to the pond surrounded by forest. In terms of its natural surroundings, it is located in the western Long Forest (no.340.13), in the eastern roof of the Waldecker Wald (no.340.1).
About 800 m south of the Stocketich is the Alveringhausen desert and 900 m north of the Bodenhausen desert , both on the Siegenbach.
The pond is located in a well for hiking suitable forest road that starts at the Hans Staden road in the southwest of Wolfhagen and farther from the poles pond southwest to Jeppentech on Dusebach goes. About 60 m north of the pond there is a refuge for hikers and cyclists . The 13.5 km long circular route H7 ( "Land of the Giants" ), one of the eight extra tours of Habichtswald walkway leads to the poles pond over.
Bathing in the pond is not allowed.
