St-André (Château-Landon)
The church Saint-André in Château-Landon , a commune in the Seine-et-Marne in the French region of Ile-de-France , was formerly the church of a priory and was under the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul in Ferrières -en-Gâtinais . Only the two basement floors of a vestibule tower have been preserved from the building. The church dedicated to the Apostle Andrew was probably built in the middle of the 12th century. Since 1987 the ruins of the church have been listed as Monument historique on the list of architectural monuments in France.

Exterior construction
The building's facades are supported by flat buttresses . A stair tower adjoins the north side . A pointed arched step portal opens in the west facade . It is embedded in a stem, which by a ring of cornice with sculpted corbels is crowned. The portal is framed by four archivolts , which are decorated with round bars . The outer archivolt is framed by a protruding frieze decorated with an egg stick-like decoration . The capitals are smooth and partly unadorned, some have stylized leaves and small, strongly protruding heads.
Above the portal, two arched window openings are cut deep into the facade. They are separated by a pillar , which is in front of a column standing on a high plinth. On the archivolts of the left window a zigzag pattern can be seen on the inner arch and a flower frieze on the outer arch.
inner space
The lower storey of the vestibule is covered with a groin vault, which is supported by pillars and columns placed in the corners. The side walls are adorned with ogival blind arcades that rest on slender columns at the sides and on consoles in the middle . Consoles and capitals are decorated with the same simple decoration as the capitals of the portal.
