Church of St-Pierre in Bazus

The Catholic Church of St-Pierre in Bazus , a French parish in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region , was originally built at the end of the 15th century and rebuilt in the 18th century. The church has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as a Monument historique since 1978 .

The late Gothic church corresponds to the type of southern French church with an open bell gable , which can be reached via a narrow stair tower. The hall building is covered by a rib vault, which is decorated with grisaille paintings .

The choir, closed on three sides, is clad with stucco and wooden paneling.

A polychrome statue of the Virgin Mary from the 14th century is worth mentioning among the church furnishings .
