The Catholic Church of St. Anna is located at Frauenlobstraße 7 in Berlin-Baumschulenweg . It was built in 1929/30 based on a design by the building contractor Bernhard Wübben.

history

The Catholic parish of St. Anna emerged from the Catholic workers' association St. Josef, which was founded in 1903. There were many allotment gardens in the municipality . Especially on weekends they wanted to offer church services.

The first church service of the congregation was celebrated on October 6, 1912 in the auditorium of a high school . On February 16, 1927, the property in Frauenlobstraße was purchased, the foundation stone was laid on November 3, 1929 and the church was consecrated by Bishop Christian Schreiber on April 21, 1930 .

The construction of the Berlin Wall on August 13, 1961 divided the parish of St. Anna. The part of the parish that was in the western part of the city was administered by St. Richard . After the number of parishioners had fallen sharply, the parish of St. Anna decided to dissolve in 1992. On September 1, 1994, it was incorporated into the St. Richard Ward. In the Church of St. Anna, services are still celebrated regularly. Now the Protestant congregation “International Mission Church Berlin” also uses the St. Anna Church for meetings and services.
