The listed Evangelical Lutheran St. Barbara Church is a church in Harenberg near Hanover and belongs to the Barbara parish of Harenberg- Döteberg .

history

Since the Middle Ages there has been a chapel in Harenberg, which belonged to the parish of Seelze. In 1882, today's neo-Gothic chapel replaced the half-timbered chapel that had existed until then. Today's chapel was rebuilt according to plans by Conrad Wilhelm Hase . In 1959 Harenberg became an independent parish with Döteberg.

The winged altar from 1880 shows the representation of Mary on the crescent moon , flanked by the patroness Barbara and John the Baptist . Saints Catherine and James are depicted in the wings .
