St. Mauritius Church (Düffelward)
The Catholic St. Mauritius Church in Düffelward near Kleve is a single-nave, neo-Gothic church . The previous building was completely destroyed in the battle for Schenkenschanz around 1635. Today the church belongs to the parish of St. Willibrord in Kleve.
Building history
The ruin served as an emergency church until 1851 . The architect Franz Pelzer was commissioned to design a new church based on the model of St. Antonius in Hau . A gravestone of the Counts of Bylandt was found during construction . Today's St. Mauritius Church was consecrated on June 21, 1852.
organ
In the church there is an organ from the then nationally known organ builder Wilhelm Rütter from Kevelaer . The slider chest instrument was built in 1856 and restored in 1994. It has 10 registers on one manual, two of which are divided into bass and treble, and an attached pedal .

The stained glass windows of the church from 1852 contain images of saints (including Saint Mauritius and Saint Elizabeth ).
In the three-storey brick tower there is an approx. 150 year old clock tower. There are three bells in the belfry. The bells are dedicated to the Virgin Mary , Saint Mauritius and Saint Theodore.
