The Evangelical Lutheran St. Nicolai Chapel is in the Haar district of the municipality of Amt Neuhaus in the district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony .

location

The St. Nicolai Chapel is located in the middle of the small village of Haar on a lawn. To the north, the chapel borders directly on trees that clearly tower above the chapel.

history

A first chapel was built in 1663 and demolished in 1817 due to disrepair. The current structure was built in 1817 on the same site.

After changes were made to the building in the meantime, the chapel was restored to its original condition from 1817 during renovations between 1998 and 1999.

The St. Nicolai Chapel today belongs to the St. Marien Church in Stapel and the St. Lukas Chapel in Konau to the parish of Stapel in the parish of Lüneburg of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .

architecture

The half-timbered chapel with brick infill consists of a nave and a west tower . The roof of the tower is covered with slate , the roof of the nave with red roof tiles . The long sides each have five lattice windows.

The nave of the chapel corresponds to a hall church . In the interior of the chapel there are only mobile and modern chairs. The walls are painted a light pink. The floor is made of terracotta-colored bricks. The chapel has a pulpit altar .
