The church of St. Andreas in Burgerroth , a district of Aub in the district of Würzburg , was the local Catholic parish church . The classicist building is a listed building.

history

A parish is said to have existed in Burgerroth earlier ; however, no documents are available or can be found about this. The construction time of the first parish church, which existed in 1453, is also unknown. The church was renovated under Prince-Bishop Julius Echter (1545–1617) and consecrated by the then Auxiliary Bishop Eucharius Sang . The current church building dates from 1824 and was elevated to a parish church in 1854. Since then, the parish has also had a local pastor. Around 742 there was already a parish in Sonderhofen , which also included the places Gelchsheim , Baldersheim , Buch and Burgerroth as the mother parish. Until 1853, Burgerroth was then a branch (parish curate) of the independent parish Baldersheim. From 1854 on, Burgerroth was its own pastor with the Buch local chaplaincy. In addition to its own parish church in the village, the parish also included the local church in Buch and the Kunigunden chapel on the Old Mountain.

description

In Art Monuments of Bavaria, District Office Ochsenfurt it says: “The current church was built in 1824. Simple rectangular system. Retracted three-storey west tower with a bell-shaped helmet. Furnishings: high altar with original side backdrops, classicist around 1824 pulpit Classicist work around 1824 with nicely decorated sound cover. Baptismal font foot and shaft round, bowl octagonal downwards into rounded post-Gothic table. Wooden figures of St. Ottilie and St. Sebastian painted in the nave. Around 1500. H 1.20 m. "

The rectory, built in 1853, is in the immediate vicinity of the church and is very spacious. Since the pastor's position was no longer occupied, the building became the property of the community and is used for social purposes, as there is no longer an inn in the village.
