St. Andreas in Kleinsorheim

The Protestant parish church of St. Andreas in Kleinsorheim , a district of the municipality of Möttingen in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries , was built in 1702. The church in the walled cemetery is a protected architectural monument .

History and description

A church in Kleinsorheim was first documented in 1312. In 1702 the church was rebuilt and in 1764 an extension was built.

The hall church has a flat ceiling and a gallery to the west. The western pediment is decorated with volutes . The building, made of broken bricks and bricks , has high arched windows. The base of the tower is square, on top of which sit two octagonal upper floors with coupled arched windows. The tower with its arched sound openings is crowned by an onion dome.
