St. Anna in Spöck

St. Anna is a Roman Catholic chapel in Spöck in Upper Swabia , a district of Kirchheim in Swabia .

In 1760 the lordship of Kirchheim Spöck granted a saint carer. Due to the danger of collapse, the chapel building diagonally across from today's chapel on the west side of the street was closed and demolished in 1870. The new building took place in 1872 according to a plan drawn up by the royal Bavarian building officer Caemmerer, which was revised by district building officer Mark from Augsburg. Master bricklayer Schwarz and master carpenter Johann Schmid from Kirchheim were the craftsmen who carried out the work. The chapel was renovated in 1955.

The building in the east of the village is neo-Romanesque and has three axes with a three-sided end . The windows have round arches and a gallery is built into the west . The chapel has a flat ceiling over the throat . Only the west facade is a little richer. The chapel has a portal with a two-column aedicula and a baroque octagonal roof turret . There are arched openings on the main sides and pilasters on the narrow diagonal sides . The pointed helmet is covered with sheet metal.

From 1873 to 1874, the carpenter März from Kirchheim made the altar according to a design by the Munich painter Thomas Guggenberger . It is Neo-Romanesque with a four-column aedicula and a painting of St. Anne by Thomas Guggenberger. On the side are the figures of St. Joseph and Johannes Baptista by Josef Hilber from Krumbach, as well as a third of Anna herself from the first half of the 18th century. Further items of equipment are a neo-Gothic crucifix and a painting by Mariahilf from the 18th century.
