General

The former church of St. Annen von Göhlitzsch is located at Kreypauer Straße . It was consecrated to St. Anne and is one of two church ruins in the city of Leuna. The building has a Gothic style.

history

The first chapel is believed to have been built here in 1099, according to unproven claims. This is doubted, however, since the first documentary mention of the place took place 150 years later. The Gothic appearance of the church was created during the renovation in 1492. The crucifixion relief on the outside probably also dates from this period. Until it was united with the church of Rössen in 1531, the church was a parish church . In the 16th century the church was extended with the north extension with the Renaissance portal and the arched windows. The church became the branch church of Leuna. During the Second World War the church was damaged and rebuilt to the 1951st The roof of the church had to be removed in 1986 due to severe deterioration.
