The subsidiary church of St. Bartholomew is a Roman Catholic church in Altfalter, Upper Palatinate (Schwarzach near Nabburg) . The church belongs to the parish of Schwarzach-Altfalter and the deanery of Nabburg .

geography

The church is located in the center of Altfalter. Around the church is the village cemetery. From the entrance portal you have a good view of the Schwarzachtal , all the way to Schwarzenfeld .

history

The exact date of construction of the church is unknown. The Romanesque church, which dates back to the 13th century, is one of the oldest in the area. The tower was added in the 17th century. The furnishings are in the Baroque style and date from around 1700. The side altar was built in 1725 by Pastor Ferdinand Köck. Until the consecration of St. Joseph's Church in 1961, it was the only church in Altfalter. Since then it has not been used regularly for church services.
