history
The simple medieval hall church with west tower was rebuilt in baroque style around 1723 .
It has double galleries , a pulpit altar and a font from the 16th century.
In 1990 the church was on the verge of decay. It was renovated with great commitment by 2008 and re-inaugurated by Regional Bishop Christoph Kähler .
The organ by Johann Georg Schröter (1683–1747) had to be relocated from Stadtilm for the reconstruction by the Schönefeld company . In 1979 Schönefeld built a new organ for Bad Berka , which was moved to Schellroda in 2008.
