The Catholic parish church St. Hubertus is a church building in Müschede , a district of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), which characterizes the town.

History and architecture

The building stands on a sloping plot of land as a self-supporting structure on the edge of the town center. It was built in 1932 according to plans by the architect Heinrich Verfuß. The appearance is determined by the humped blocks made of natural stone used as building material. The side walls of the elongated nave are structured by sloping buttresses and simple arched windows.

The interior is aligned with the altar in the tower. The nave looks like a large room into which a high light vault with cross ridges has been drawn. The arch is connected to the walls by stitch caps and brackets above the windows. The strongly drawn-in choir is arched with a star; the yellowish-tinted light that falls from the side windows makes it look like an independent room unit. The new altar and the ambo were placed in front of the choir arch . The rose window and the glass pictures under the rear gallery were designed by Wilhelm Rengshausen.

tower

The eight-sided tower connects directly to the ridge of the gable roof . Its walls are structured by angular, closed sound windows, and it is crowned with a retracted tent roof.
