The Protestant village church St. Jakobus stands on the southern edge east of the village road and at the northern foot of the Eichberg in the Zwinge district of the Sonnenstein community in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

history

No references to the first documentary mention have been found in the literature. It was reported, however, that the church on the former inner-German border had to be refurbished after the political change and was refurbished in order to remedy the shortcomings from the neglect during this time. Now it is clearly visible. It is a half-timbered church with a slate roof turret and tower clock , lantern , helmet , button and symbolized cross-weather flag . The roof of the nave is covered with tiles and the facade has been repainted. The house of God nestles close to nature in the surrounding area of ​​the Ellertal.

Inside the church has a pulpit-like cantilevered organ loft .

The monument

The front of the church stands monument from sandstone for the fallen and missing soldiers of both World Wars .
