History and architecture

The neo-Gothic nave was built with a choir with a 5/8 end and choir side chapels from 1871 to 1874 according to plans by Arnold Güldenpfennig . The choir is decorated with elaborate frames and stained glass from the construction period. In the three-bay nave, ribbed vaults rest on slender round pillars. The side aisles are equipped with diamond vaults. The baroque west tower , built in 1737, faces west . It was built from hammer right green sandstone with corner blocks. The rib-vaulted tower hall was opened to the simple hall of the chapel and the church. At the same time, the neo-baroque Marienkapelle in front of the tower was built. It is a flat-roofed hall with richly designed window frames. The miraculous image of Mary of the Stone is housed in the chapel .
