St. Josef (Rungg)

The church of St. Josef in Rungg, a settlement in the south of the municipality of Tramin in South Tyrol , is consecrated to St. Joseph of Nazareth .

St. Josef is the youngest church building in the community. The architect Ferdinand Mungenast provided the plans in the neo-Romanesque style in 1900 . The hall church with two- bay groin vault and polygonal choir closure took place in the years 1901–1902, the pointed spire was built in 1908.

The altar from the workshop of the Val Gardena artist Ferdinand Stuflesser, completed in 1902, shows the church patron Joseph as well as sculptures by Franz von Sales and Teresa von Ávila . In the niche above the entrance there is a statue of Anthony of Padua .
