St. Josefen is a Swiss town in the canton of St. Gallen . Together with Abtwil and Engelburg , St. Josefen forms the political municipality of Gaiserwald .
The parish church, built in 1660 , gave way to a chapel in 1960 . A group of houses emerging in the immediate vicinity was first called Hofacker, later St. Josefen. Today the local museum of the community Gaiserwald is located below.
