St. Joseph in Attenhausen

The Roman Catholic St. Joseph Chapel is located in Attenhausen, a district of the municipality of Sontheim in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The church is a listed building. The chapel is a wooden structure and was donated in 1677 by Georg Rösch from Tyrol. The building consists of two window axes and has a 3/8 end in the choir .

Interior

The altar of the chapel is a neo-baroque structure. The altarpiece shows the Holy Family, was created around 1700 and is heavily painted over. The antependium shows the worship of the heart of Jesus by the poor souls. There are several paintings in the chapel, all of which were created around 1720/1730 and come from the Ottobeurer workshop. These show St. Benedict , Scholastica , John the Baptist , and Anthony of Padua . The 29 votive pictures in the chapel date from the first half of the 19th century. Two wooden figures show St. Joseph from the middle of the 18th century and St. John Ev. by 1740.
