The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Katharina is the village church of Unterweißbrunn , a district of Bischofsheim in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Bischofsheim and is registered under the number D-6-73-117-131 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Unterweißbrunn is part of the parish community "Am Kreuzberg ".

history

Unterweißbrunn has been an independent parish since 1798 . Before that, the place was a branch of Bischofsheim. The steeple is medieval and was raised in 1614. The nave was built in 1817.

description

The church tower stands as a choir tower in the east. He has a welsche hood . The nave is classical and has a gable roof . Figures of saints are attached to its west side. The walls of the nave next to the chancel are up to about 2 / 3 broken through its height of pillars.

Furnishing

A large crucifix is placed in the middle of the high altar . The side altars , however, are decorated with paintings. The organ is set up on the western gallery .
