St. Kilian (Vörden)
The Catholic parish church of St. Kilian is a listed church building on Marktstrasse in Vörden , a district of Marienmünster in the Höxter district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The community was founded in 1319. The cross-shaped hall church was built from plastered quarry stone from 1899 to 1901, including the west tower , which is essentially medieval, and the remains of the old nave. On the tower with a stepped dome there is an inscription panel from 1567 and the anchor number 1738. A flat ceiling was drawn into the interior of the transept, wooden pointed barrel vaults rest in the nave and rib vaults in the choir . The colored windows were made by Henning & Andres in 1901 .
Furnishing
- The mannerist , high-quality epitaph altar made of Baumberger sandstone was donated in 1612 by Ernst Gottschalk von Haxthausen. The architectural structure with column structure and figurative relief scenes from the Passion is crowned with a Madonna figure . The altar was originally in color taken and gilded. Anton Mormann added it from 1901 to 1902 and added the princes of the apostles and the bishops in the essay. A comprehensive restoration was carried out in 2004.
- The Kilians altar is named 1924 and 1927
- The cross bars of the triumphal cross end as a quatrefoil . The crucified one was carved from softwood at the end of the 15th century and added by Mormann in 1902. The version is a work by Franz Anton Goldkuhle.
- The octagonal baptism made of Teutoburg sandstone is adorned with reliefs of the evangelists and pilasters . It was created at the beginning of the 17th century.
- St. Kilian was carved from wood around 1700.
