St. Laurentius (Bodelwitz)
The Protestant village church of St. Lawrence is in the municipality Bodelwitz the oppurg in Saale-Orla in Thuringia .
history
The choir tower church , located on a walled cemetery , was first mentioned in 1320. The tower has loopholes and two bells .
The nave , equipped with a patronage box , has two-story galleries . The lower one is circumferential and houses the organ from the Eifert company from Stadtilm , which was overhauled in 2008 . The pulpit altar with sound cover and decoration decorate the room. The font and the lectern are made of wood. The table has a marble top .
A gothic pointed arch door is said to date from 1483. In 1781 the church was extended to the south.
In a niche there is a memorial for the victims of the First World War .
In 1999–2006 the church was extensively refurbished and renovated.
