The Catholic Church of St. Mary's Assumption is part of the newly founded pastoral care unit St. Johannes Evangelist ( Sassenberg ) / St. Assumption of Mary ( Füchtorf ). It is in the immediate vicinity of Thieplatz .
The current building was built in 1846 as a neo-Gothic , three-nave hall church based on a design by Konrad Niermann . It is one of the first neo-Gothic church buildings in the Münster diocese. From 1996 to 1999 the church was renovated.

The organ goes back to an instrument from 1922, which was built by the organ builder Anton Feith , reusing pipe material from the previous instrument by the organ builder Pohlmann from 1851. The organ was finally made by the organ builder Siegfried Sauer (Höxter) newly built. The slider chests -instrument has 32 registers (2,183 pipes ) on two manuals and pedal . The Spieltrakturen are mechanically, the Registertrakturen electrically.
