St. Mary and Joseph

The Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Maria and Joseph is located in Eheim , a district of Ottobeuren in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building.

Building description

The chapel , consisting of a small hall with two window axes, was consecrated in 1783. The chancel with a window axis is closed in a semicircle. The west side of the chapel is clad with wood, on this side there is also the church tower . Inside there is a memorial plaque made of Solnhofer stone about the blessing of the chapel in 1783.

An extensive renovation took place in 1933. A painting in the small, newly created porch on the west side of the chapel showed what the chapel had looked like before. The painter was Brother Michael from the Ottobeuren monastery.
