St. Marien (Blintendorf)
The Protestant village church of St. Marien is in the Blintendorf district of the town of Gefell in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
history
The village church is a hall church with a west tower and a three-sided choir on the east side. 1626 she was u. a. built with parts from the previous church. The galleries and the pulpit were created and built in 1639. The painting of the ceiling and walls also dates from this period. The organ was purchased in 1743. A carved Madonna from the 15th century and a baptismal angel embellish the room.
The KiBa Foundation
With financial help from the Foundation for the Preservation of Church Monuments in Germany (KiBa Foundation), the dry rot in the roof structure was removed in 2011 and further repairs to wood connections were carried out. The church roof and the church tower were re-covered with slate .
