Osny is a French commune with 16,910 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Val-d'Oise department in north-west Paris . It is 27.8 km from the center of Paris and is located in the Communauté d'agglomération de Cergy-Pontoise . Osny is part of the Cergy-1 canton .
geography
Osny is located northwest of Paris and is bounded by the municipalities of Livilliers in the north, Ennery in the northeast, Pontoise in the east and Cergy in the south. In the south-west is Puiseux-Pontoise , in the west Boissy-l'Aillerie and in the north-west Génicourt .
history
Finds from prehistory attest to early settlement.
The place is first handed down in 832. The manorial rule , which was held by various families close to the French court in the Middle Ages , came to Nicolas Le Sueur in 1630, who was Conseiller du Roi in the Conseil d'État . The heirs owned the rule until 1715. In 1719, Antoine de Nicolay became the owner, whose heirs owned the castle in the village until the 19th century and also provided the mayor.
