Bréançon is a French village with 373 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Pontoise and the Canton of Pontoise . The inhabitants call themselves Bréançonnais or Bréançonnaises .

geography

The municipality of Bréançon is 38 kilometers north of Paris . It is located in the Vexin français Regional Nature Park .

Bréançon is located in the Vexin and consists of four districts: Bréançon, le Rosnel, le Fay and la Ferme de la Laire. Neighboring municipalities are Marines , Le Heaulme , Haravilliers , Theuville , Grisy-les-Plâtres , Cormeilles-en-Vexin and Frémécourt .

history

Gallo-Roman finds attest to an early settlement of the place.

The Seugnerie de Bréançon belonged in the 18th century to the Marquis de Gouy, Maréchal de camp des armées du roi and Lieutenant général d' Île-de-France .

In 1866 the railway line from Valmondois to Marines was inaugurated, connecting Bréançon with Pontoise and Paris . This line was discontinued in 1949.
